6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our Site uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to:
- Keep the Site functioning correctly (e.g. remembering items in your cart)
- Understand how visitors use our Site, so we can improve it
- Deliver and measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Meta (via the Meta Pixel and Conversions API) and Google, including retargeting people who have viewed products or added items to cart
- Enable Afterpay to assess and process instalment payments at checkout
As our Site is built on Shopify, Shopify also sets certain cookies that are essential to the operation of the Site (such as cart and checkout functionality) and, where enabled, its own analytics.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site. Where required by applicable law, we obtain consent before placing non-essential advertising or analytics cookies. You can accept, reject, or manage these technologies through our cookie settings tool.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes using secure, PCI-compliant payment processing partners and restricting access to personal information to staff and service providers who need it to perform their role.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We maintain processes for responding to suspected data breaches. Where a breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
8. Retention of Personal Information
Retaining information depends on its nature and why it was collected. For example, we may retain order and transaction records for the period required by tax, accounting and consumer laws; customer-service correspondence while reasonably necessary to manage enquiries and disputes; and marketing information until you unsubscribe or it is no longer required. We may retain limited suppression records to ensure we continue to honour an unsubscribe request.
9. Marketing and Your Choices
If you have subscribed to our email or SMS marketing, you can opt out at any time by:
- Clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email
- Replying "STOP" to any marketing SMS
- Contacting us directly using the details in Section 15
Please note that even if you opt out of marketing, we will still send you transactional communications relating to your orders (e.g. order confirmations and shipping updates).
We send electronic marketing only where we have the required consent or are otherwise permitted by law. Our messages identify Claris Diamond as the sender and provide a functional way to unsubscribe. We will action unsubscribe requests within the timeframe required by law.
10. Access, Correction, and Complaints
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of any information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete
- Lodge a complaint if you believe we have mishandled your personal information
You may also ask an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf. Before actioning a request, we may need to verify your identity (or the agent's authority to act for you) — for example, by asking you to confirm details linked to your account or order — to ensure we don't disclose or alter your information to the wrong person.
We will not discriminate against you, or treat you any differently, for exercising these rights.
To make a request or complaint, please contact us using the details in Section 15. We will acknowledge your complaint and investigate it using a fair and reasonable process. We aim to respond within 30 days, although complex matters may take longer. If additional time is required, we will explain the reason for the delay.
Access may be refused only where permitted by law.
If refused, we will generally provide written reasons.
No fee is charged for making a request, although reasonable access costs may apply where legally permitted.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

Do not include personal or sensitive information in a public review that you do not want others to see. We take reasonable steps to manage User Content submitted through our Site, but information published publicly may be copied or used by others outside our control.
12. Third-Party Websites and Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or platforms, including brand partners, press features, or other sites not owned or operated by us. If you follow a link to a site not affiliated with Claris Diamond, we encourage you to review that site's own privacy policy and terms before providing any personal information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party websites, and including a link does not imply our endorsement of that site or its operator.
13. Business Transfers
If Claris Diamond is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of business assets, or similar transaction, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. If this happens and your personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy, we will notify you — for example, via email or a notice on the Site. We will disclose only the information reasonably necessary for the proposed transaction and take appropriate steps to protect it.
14. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and individuals under 18 may only place an order with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
